Biography / Background

Trang Nguyen Tam has been teaching at Hanoi National University of Education in a variety of fields, including General English, English for Specific Purposes, Language Skills Development, and Teaching Methodology. Over the past 11 years, her responsibilities comprise of teaching and training the pre-service and in-service teachers, developing the syllabi and teaching materials, conducting research, writing some articles, books and presenting at both national and international conferences. Graduating with a high-distinction bachelor degree and a high-distinction master degree in English Studies from Hanoi University, she also studied about research skills at Monash University and gained some English Language Teaching (ELT) Certificates after attending the training programmes under Vietnam’s National Foreign Languages Project 2020. Her research interests include ELT methodology, testing and assessment, critical and creative thinking, and educational psychology. Currently, her attention is paid on developing the teaching materials for English for Social Work and researching on Testing and Assessment. Furthermore, Trang Nguyen Tam is deeply interested in organizing conferences for Vietnamese teachers nationwide to share experiences and learn from one another to strengthen their capacity in teaching and conducting research. Therefore, she initiated and wrote the proposal of organizing the 1st International VietTESOL conference approved by the National Foreign Languages Project 2020. The conference is organized by Hanoi National University of Education for the very first time on 09th - 10th, December 2014.
