TEACHING EXPERIENCE

From July 2006 to January 2009, and from February 2011 to December 2011

Lecturer in Immunology, Animal Pathology and Animal Physiology

Faculty of Biology, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam.

From February 2009 to February 2011

Teaching Assistant (TA) on Immunology, Animal Physiology in English

School of Biological Science, University of Ulsan (UOU), South Korea.

PROJECT WORKING EXPERIENCE

Since November 2015

Researching in the functions of cAMP signaling in metabolism and metabolic disorders, the projects are funded by Novo Nordisk Foundation and Marie Curie Action of European Union, focusing:

(1).  Functions of cAMP-signalling and A kinase anchoring proteins (AKAPs) especially OPA1 in lipid metabolism and  obesity.

(2). OPA1 effects on adiopogenesis of stem cells and cell lines, and on lipogenic, lipolytic and thermogenic functions of adipocytes

(3). Molecular pathways to trigger brown adipogenesis of stem cells and cell lines and/or to switch white to brown adipocytes.

(4). Molecular regulations of adipogenesis and functions of white vs brown adipocytes

(5). Molecular regulations of nutritional, developmental, genetic and epigenetic effects on lipid metabolism and obesity.

December 2011 – October 2015

Researching in Welcome program of the Foundation for Polish Science entitled “Nutrition and ambient temperature during early development can reduce susceptibility to obesity” financed by European Union Structural Funds, under the supervision of a talented American scientist, Prof. Leslie P. Kozak. This program is located in Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Sciences, Olsztyn, Poland.

 Responsible for 3 research directions:

(1). Stimulation and regulation of white and/or brown adipogenesis in vitro from stem cells and stromal vascular fraction of adipose tissues.

(2). The effect of nutrition, development and genetics on diet induced obesity (DIO) in mouse models.

(3). Histone modifications and DNA methylation in metabolism and obesity.

From February 2011 to December 2011

Involved in one “diabetic project”, we tested extract of some local plants in Vietnam in mouse models of diabetes.

From February 2009 to January 2011

Researched at Biomedical Research Center, School of Biological Science, University of Ulsan (UOU). I followed two projects:

(1). Roles of costimulatory molecules in autoimmune disease and graft versus host disease (GVHD)

(2). Roles of costimulatory molecules in tumor immunity.

From May 2006 to January 2009

Researched at Lab of Human and Animal Physiology, Faculty of Biology, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam.

From 2005 to May 2006

Involved in one project of “Vietnam Government program of controlling and preventing the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)” at the Biochemistry - Immunology - Pathology Department, National Institute of Veterinary Research (NIVR), Vietnam. In this work, I focused on the antigen equivalent of imported FMD vaccine and isolated Vietnamese FMD virus.
